That's the message of this year's Fire Prevention Week
JOIN THE CLEAR LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR FIRE PREVENTION WEEK & THE ANNUAL CLFD PANKAKE BREAKFAST
This year, the Clear Lake Fire Department will again be helping the NFPA during National Fire Prevention Week. Our members will be teaching theme “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives”. Help us sound the alarm to everyone in our community!
Did you know that many people don’t test their smoke alarms as often as they should? When there is a fire, smoke spreads fast. You need working smoke alarms to give you warning and time to get out. Test yours every month!
The CLFD responds to many potential hazardous events each year. We find smoke detectors with dead batteries and even NO batteries all the time! That’s just ASKING for trouble! Please make October your smoke detector’s birthday…And give it what it wants! A NEW BATTERY! Go to www.nfpa.org for more information.
During fire prevention week October 5th – 11th, the CLFD will be visiting many area schools. It is important to those of every age to think about this message so we can all make our homes a safer place. Please contact the Clear Lake Fire Department if you have any questions regarding your smoke detector or carbon monoxide detectors, their placement, or potential hazards in your home or business. We can help!
